If the saying, “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” is true, then we at The Blue Kitchen believe that everyday should be a celebration of love! We are also all about convenience, and although the image of slaving away at the stove for the a romantic evening’s meal may sound appealing (not), there are easier ways to go about the task of dinner for two. Teaming up with Chef Raul Forés, we came up with a simple yet exciting Valentine’s Day menu that take less than 15 minutes to put together, leaving you with more time for chit-chat, a few glasses of wine, and maybe even a dance around the living room after dessert.

Start your night with a simple salad of greens brightened up with a vinaigrette made with olive oil, balsamic, red wine vinegar, and pieces of our Lemon Garlic Tinapa (Php 330/ bottle) ground up. The result is a festive, tangy starter that whets the appetite and will make you and your significant other want to go back for more.

You will need a handful of angel hair pasta, garlic, olive oil, chili flakes, and a spoonful of Pure Aligue (Php 200/ bottle) to get this decadent, bright orange pasta dish. Skip the crème fraîche and lightly fry garlic chips in olive oil, turning down the heat while adding a generous dollop of pure aligue, and then tossing everything in the angel hair. Finish the dish off with a light dusting of chili flakes to taste, and enjoy this on its own or as a side to grilled steak or lamb chops.

For a fun, Filipino take on dessert, try Raul’s version of a Manila Mess. Using crumbled up Mariposa (Php 345/ 12 pieces), Baby Sesame Balls, Purple-Lia Polvoron (Php 210/ 15 pieces), Flavored Merengue, strawberries, and cream make up the colorful platter with a variety of different flavors and textures, all coming together to make this delightful dessert.
